bullets to brilliance

So, those promised blogs never happen...my apologies to anyone who might still have this in their bookmarks. A lot has happened since I last posted.

original content forthcoming!

I have a blog about The Golden Compass sketched out [complete with videoz and whatnot]. It's pretty interesting (...i think/hope).

At the moment I'm too busy/stressed/consumed with finishing my applications to give it a good spit-shine and make it pretty for you. I'm trying to stay focused...[which is obviously tough for me...considering I'm posting this now] and get them all in before the new year!

Current Gripe: Re-researching the places I've chosen to apply has made me fall deeply in lust with all the programs [*cough* libraries]. The prospect of not getting offers from them is making my lustful gazes at the department pages, to be quite modest, bittersweet.

I really want this. Any nonchalance that I might emit
about this whole process...is a defense mechanism.
Knowing that pursing academia is the only goal I can
see myself pursing...makes this whole process terrifying.
Please, please, please...don't let me foul this up.
Please, please, please grammarians don't jump me for
ending that last plea with a preposition.

Caffeinated [and honestly at the mercy of fate (?)],
nat

doing the application shuffle

Dear long-lost reader/friend,

Sorry if I haven’t returned your calls/e-mails/smoke signals…it’s a hermit’s life for me (until these are out of my hands).

I have deadlines for my grad school applications coming up. They range from next week through February. My new goal is to have all of my applications submitted/out of my hands/off of my shoulders/out of my mind by Christmas.

I’m sending out applications to:

The awesomely intimidating aspect of this list is I would be thrilled to start in any of their programs in the fall. I have a few definite favorites (schools offering additional certificate programs, prospect of living in the same city as my best friend, etc.) but my urge to get back on an academic track, wanting to be working towards my goals is by far the loudest ringing in my ears.

Snowball fights and hot chocolate,

Nabero

PS. One of my favorite songs. Stuck in my head. Wonderful words. TC is a poet. Thought I would share.
